Kevin Bunten is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois with over two decades of experience in the field of mental health and addiction treatment. He began his academic journey studying Philosophy and Theology in St. Louis, MO and Denver, CO before earning his Master of Science in Education and Counseling Services from Fordham University in New York City in 1999.
Kevin’s professional path in addiction treatment began in 2003 at The Realization Center in NYC, an outpatient facility specializing in substance use disorders. His work there—combined with his own journey in recovery—ignited a deep passion that has shaped his entire career.
In 2006, Kevin returned to his hometown of St. Louis and has since worked across various levels of care, including Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Detox, and Residential treatment. He has played a key role in developing curriculum and leading Family Programs at multiple treatment centers.
Today, Kevin maintains a private practice at Horizon Hope Counseling in O’Fallon, IL, and serves as the Family Therapy Program Director at Illinois Recovery Center, where he continues to support clients and families with empathy, experience, and purpose.
